Lehi's own court

A municipal courtroom on 100 East, and only for Lehi.

Lehi Justice Court is the municipal court at 153 North 100 East, Lehi. City DUI cases filed inside Lehi are heard here. It is a city court. It is not the county justice court, even though both are in Utah County and both hear misdemeanors.

People are stopped on Lehi streets, on Timpanogos Highway (SR-92), and along the I-15 corridor through town, then have to work somewhere else the next morning. Which agency wrote the citation, and which court is printed on it, matters more than the exit you remember. Orem and Highland run their own justice courts. Unincorporated county, Cedar Hills, and Vineyard go to Utah County Justice Court in Provo. If one of those names is on your paper, you are on a different calendar.

Most first-offense DUIs in Utah are Class B misdemeanors handled in justice court. Lehi Justice Court is where those Lehi city cases are filed. A charge that is stepped up because of a prior DUI, an injury, or a child in the car can land in district court instead. Dallin will tell you which file you have after he sees the paperwork. He will not guess from the city name alone.

The address on the notice

The hearing and the workday are different problems

People charged in Lehi often work outside the city. Most hearings at Lehi Justice Court are held virtually or hybrid, so many of them can be attended online instead of taking the morning off.

What arraignment is for

Lehi's first setting introduces the charge. It does not finish it.

Show up for the court named on the notice, in the format that notice describes.

  1. Match the notice to 100 East

Your date should name Lehi Justice Court. If it names a different court, appearing on 100 East does not put you on that other calendar.

  2. You are told the charge and your rights

The court advises you of the accusation and of the right to counsel. A common path is to plead not guilty, or to ask for time to hire a lawyer, and to come back when the defense is actually underway.

  3. Ask how that date is being held

Most hearings at this court are held virtually or hybrid. Many clients join online so they do not leave a job elsewhere along the Wasatch Front for a short appearance in Lehi. If the court wants you in the room, the notice will say so.

Online is still court

A video hearing in a Lehi case is not a phone call you take from the car.

Most hearings at Lehi Justice Court are held virtually or hybrid. Treat the link like a courtroom: be somewhere quiet, be on time, and have the citation with you. Dallin goes over that before the date so you are not guessing at the login while a judge is waiting.

The first conversation with Dallin is by phone or video. You do not come to Saratoga Springs to find out whether the paper in your hand is a Lehi Justice Court case. Utah's driver-license process runs separately, on a short timeline of its own. He will tell you what in the paperwork relates to that, as well as the court date.

How a Lehi Justice Court case is prepared after the first call is on the DUI practice page. If you would rather write than call, use the contact page.
