Highland and Alpine DUI Lawyer | Highland and Alpine Justice Court DUI Defense

Highland and Alpine each have a justice court, and the captions stay separate. Highland publishes its justice center at 5400 West Civic Center Drive, Suite 4, immediately south of Highland City Hall. Alpine's council has said Highland runs the justice court and handles the operations. Alpine City Hall, at 20 North Main, is the city office. Dallin Littlefield defends DUI cases in both courts.

Two city courts. One published justice center, in Highland.

Highland City says the Highland City Justice Center is at 5400 West Civic Center Drive, Suite 4, immediately south of City Hall. Court is typically in session on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. The clerk is in the office Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Citation payments are taken at City Hall, Suite 1, Monday through Thursday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Those are counter hours. They are not a substitute for the time on your notice.

Alpine Justice Court is a separate caption. At its January 27, 2026 meeting, Alpine's city council said Highland runs the justice court, that Alpine pays Highland a monthly assessment, and that Highland handles the operations. Alpine City Hall is at 20 North Main. That address is the city office. This page does not treat it as a second courtroom. Alpine's site publishes 20 North Main as the city office, and it does not label that address as the justice court. If your notice prints an address, that paper controls. A Highland stop and an Alpine stop are still different files, even when the operations sit in the same building.

The bench above American Fork Canyon is full of courts that sound alike. Cedar Hills files in Utah County Justice Court, at 151 South University Avenue, Suite 3300, in Provo. If the notice prints a different address, use the notice. Pleasant Grove and Lehi have municipal courts of their own. Lone Peak Public Safety covers Alpine, Highland, and Cedar Hills, so a police report from that department does not tell you the court. SR-92 and the Alpine Highway carry a lot of the stops. The caption still decides.

Most first-offense DUIs in Utah are Class B misdemeanors handled in justice court. Highland Justice Court and Alpine Justice Court hear that level of case for their cities. A prior DUI, an injury, or a child in the vehicle can change the classification, and those cases are filed in district court. Most hearings at both courts are held virtually or hybrid. Highland's Thursday posting is the city's usual session. It is not a promise that your date is in Suite 4, or that it falls on a Thursday.

Highland Justice Court

Suite 4, Civic Center Drive

The city's published justice center, immediately south of Highland City Hall. Use this address when the caption says Highland Justice Court and the notice puts you in the building.

Alpine Justice Court

A separate caption, run through Highland

Alpine's council says Highland handles the court operations. 20 North Main is city hall. Follow the court name on the citation, then the address on the notice.

Arraignment on the bench

The first setting states the charge. It does not finish the case.

Know which city is named before you look up the building.

  1. Match the caption to Highland or Alpine

Bring the citation. Highland Justice Court and Alpine Justice Court are different files. A Cedar Hills, Pleasant Grove, Lehi, or Utah County caption is a different court again, even if the drive started on SR-92.

  2. Rights, then a plea or time to hire counsel

The judge advises you of your rights, including the right to a lawyer, and asks how you intend to plead. Many people plead not guilty so the case can move forward with counsel, or they ask for time to hire a lawyer before entering a plea.

  3. Check Thursday against your own notice

Most hearings at both courts are held virtually or hybrid. Highland says court is typically Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. Many people join online from work instead of driving to Civic Center Drive. If the notice puts you in Suite 4, that is the appearance you make.

SR-92 and the workday

A video date is still court, whether the caption says Highland or Alpine.

Most hearings at both courts are held virtually or hybrid. People charged along this part of Utah County often work down in the valley. A remote setting can keep that shift. It does not mean you take the hearing from the car on SR-92. Be somewhere quiet, be on time, and have the citation. If the notice says Suite 4, the building is immediately south of Highland City Hall, not Alpine City Hall on Main Street.

The consultation itself is by phone or video. Littlefield Legal is based in Saratoga Springs and does not ask you to come in for the first conversation. Utah also runs a driver-license process on its own short timeline, separate from the criminal case. On the consult, Dallin tells you what to look for in the paperwork so that clock is not ignored while the court date is still ahead.

How a defense is built for either court, once the caption is confirmed, is on the DUI practice page. If you would rather write than call, use the contact page.
